Which music format should I download the music in?

When you purchase any of our new music products, you will get the option of downloading the music in one (or all) of the following formats: 

• MP3
• WAV
• FLAC

Keep the following in mind when you choose the format you want to download. 

Compressed format: MP3

MP3 is a good option if you want files with small file sizes that sound good. This option is a compressed format, meaning that the files have been compressed in order to save space. 

For the highest possible quality, choose one of the uncompressed formats instead.

Uncompressed formats

WAV and FLAC are uncompressed formats, meaning they offer the highest quality for your download(s). However, this also means that the file sizes can be very large. 

FLAC

If your device supports this format, we recommend FLAC over WAV as FLAC offers the same uncompressed quality but with a lower file size than WAV. 

WAV

WAV is a popular uncompressed audio format. Keep in mind that the file sizes can get very large for some of our music tracks, especially the longer ones.
